  • MARION, VIRGINIA: DONALD LEE GILLESPIE, age 75, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born September 28, 1937 to the late Clarence and Minnie Ferguson Gillespie. He was an active member of the Ridgedale United Methodist Church, having served as Sunday School superintendent; and was employed for 51 years at Brunswick and General Dynamics. He took great pride in the operation of his farm in Rich Valley, truly enjoying every minute he could spend on the farm. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bradley Gillespie. Donald is survived by his loving wife Ann Cooper Gillespie of Marion, Virginia; brother, Harold Gillespie and wife, Nellie of Chilhowie, Virginia; mother-n-law, Juanita Cooper of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gillespie of Marion, Virginia and Brenda Brooks and husband, Daren of Chilhowie, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Jack Cooper and wife, Judy of Callahan, Florida, Bill Cooper and wife, Sandra of Chilhowie, Virginia and Richard Cooper and wife, Sandra of Newport News, Virginia; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Ernest Yeatts officiating. On June 17th of 1950, Malcolm and Irene Brown welcomed a bouncing baby boy into the world, Malcolm Marvin Brown the Third.
