Bad Salesmen In Area The Sun-Commercial has learned of "home improvement" salesmen operating area who offer "free installation" of certain items, such as siding. Any contract which involves "free work." or should be carefully checked with a competent attorney before it is signed. No home-owner should permit work to be started or completed until all financial details have been approved by his lawyer. This warning does not apply to local home improvement companies or dealers established business connections.

There are sales groups in the area, however, that attempt to obtain agreements for "free work" and out after selling contracts. Some offers of "free work" may be in good faith, and salesmen making bona fide offers will not object to having an attorney check their proposals. This warning is published in order to alert homeowners against committing themselves to contract terms for "free work" which can in fact involve heavy cost to the home-owner.
