How do we know that there is a hereafter? What we believe about the hereafter changes the way we live our lives.😇 A person who has certainty in heaven will be inspired to give generously, act truthfully, and live faithfully.💰 But, a person who has doubts about the hereafter will focus on getting the most out of their time on Earth... (YOLO!)The truth is -- while believing in the hereafter is important, it is something that parents have a difficult time teaching.(If we're being honest, many of us parents could use a refresher as well! 😅)That’s why I’m thrilled to announce, “Afterlife Explorers,” a 5-week summer ilmspring course to build a unwavering belief in the hereafter among 9-14 year olds.Learn more — ilmspring.comDuring our course, we help young Muslims tackle critical questions related to the hereafter:1️⃣ How does believing in the hereafter change my life?2️⃣ How do I know without a shadow of a doubt that there is a hereafter?3️⃣ What happens when we pass away?4️⃣ What is the Day of Judgement?5️⃣ Should I be scared about the hereafter? In short -- we take 9-14 year olds on a step-by-step journey to change their lives forever by inspiring conviction in the hereafter. There is a little catch… Afterlife Explorers begins on May 18th (which is about 10 days from now).#faithbased #islamicschool

In today's morning saadhna, a realisation dawned upon me. A question popped up in my head - What's the relevance of Teacher's Day? And as grace would have it, it showed me the answer. The relationship between a teacher and student/seeker (guru- shishya) is very unique! The role of a teacher is to impart knowledge and wisdom, in essence, it is about sharing a part of themselves. On the other hand, a student/ seeker can only receive once they accept the other person in the way they are offering themselves. Both life positions require one common thing - shedding your ahem (ego). A teacher can't get across to anyone if they are full of themselves. If they are driven by the pride of their knowledge and accomplishments, the seeker won't listen, it would not impact them.Similarly, if we are full of ourselves, then whatever may be available to us in terms of knowledge, experience, and wisdom, we just fail to listen and absorb. This real exchange between a teacher and a seeker is possible in a state where they both step away for their ahem, a state of complete surrender. There are countless people who have played the role of a teacher and seekers in my life, which has enabled me on my own journey of recognizing and shedding my ahem, bit by bit.But all this has been made possible through the true gurus, who embraced me as a shishya - Sameer Kamboj and Shalini Kamboj.. Loads of gratitude and love to you🌹🙏❤️#consciousness #teachersday #ego #surrender

My favourite subject to teach is PSHE – personal, social, health and economic education. Many schools call it life skills, or learning for life. And, as with so many aspects of life, PSHE is all about starting with yourself first. Do you have a good relationship with yourself? Are you a good friend to yourself? It might feel a little strange asking it, but it’s really important that you care for yourself first and foremost – that you are friendly to yourself and enjoy a healthy relationship or friendship with yourself. This quote from Eleanor Roosevelt explains why:“Friendship with oneself is all important, because without it one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world.”Here are a few tips on how you can be a good friend to yourself:·Accept things you can’t change. There are some things you can’t change about yourself, like your past experiences…·Focus on your strengths. Instead of focusing on your perceived weaknesses, focus on your strengths. You always have some strengths, which give you a unique combination of qualities that nobody else have. Be acquainted with your strengths and build your life around them.·Stop comparing yourself with others. You are unique, so you will never be like other people, and neither can other people be like you. Remember: the quickest way to unhappiness is to compare yourself to others.#PSHE #emotionalliteracy #socialhealth #friendship #healtheducation #relationshipseducation #RSE

The article by Bharati Bhaskar in TOI is spot on. As a professor, I always tell my students to stay grounded. The same goes for our children. Life skills are essential. We can nurture our children, bend backwards to provide for them. But we have to make sure we equip them with necessary life skills, so they can survive and thrive in the real world even after we are long gone.Life skills are not just about academics. They also include things like cleaning, cooking, managing money, saving, sharing, empathizing and resolving conflicts. These skills are essential for children to learn how to take care of themselves, live independently, and be successful in their relationships and careers. Even young children can learn how to clean their own room, help with chores, and make simple decisions. As they get older, we can teach them more complex skills, such as how to cook, budget their money, and resolve conflicts. The best way to teach life skills is by example. We can show them how to do things, and let them learn from their mistakes. We can support them by being more patient and understanding. By teaching our children life skills, we are giving them the best possible chance to succeed in life. They will be more independent, confident, and resilient, and they will be better equipped to handle the challenges that come their way.#lifeskills #parenting #education #success #childrenswellbeing #children #legacy

Teach these life skills to your younger generations:1. Teach your child to not be afraid of following their dream and working hard to achieve them.2. Teach to be honest to themselves and value those who are honest toward them.3.Make sure they are not just cramming for exams, but truly gaining knowledge.4.The world will tell them to be this or that, but teach your kid to not lose their true self.5.Mistakes are one of the biggest teachers in life.6.Teach to introspect and be aware of who they are rather than imposing your thoughts on them.7. In this world full of harsh lies and selfish people, you can retain your kindness with true people.8.Teach them to not cling on to people who choose to walk away from their life.9. Family will be there for you through thick and thin and you should not take them for granted.10. A career change or hobby class change, you are never too old for anything.11. Love can heal everything, and peace can win all wars.12. Few people you can't change, hence leave it to their destiny. 13. Everyone you can't help as they also have to go through to their struggle journey to discover themselves.14. Don't waste energy on those relationships which can drain you. Keep a strict boundary with them. 15. It's your life, you have to live in your way, but experience always matters which can't be replaced by short term knowledge hence seek guidance from those who have done positive work.#lifelessons

Life Nuggets I have learnt along the way The older I get the more I realize the importance of walking away from people and situations which threaten my peace of mind, self respect, values and self worth. Through the passage of time, we are not merely growing older, but refining the artistry of our existence, each year adding depth, character, and a profound richness to the masterpiece of our livesIn the intricate weave of life, every moment, every experience, and every person contributes to the unique and beautiful tapestry of our existence.Adversity introduces a person to themselves. Through perseverance, they discover their strength. Success is the testimony of their resilienceIn the symphony of life, play the notes of goodness, for karma is the melody that echoes back the harmony of our deeds.View every moment, every setback, and every success as a classroom; life's best lessons are often disguised as bad experiences. Trust me, they are another learning opportunity.JA, November 2023

Stardate 30.09.12023Day 4 @ University of LeedsStarting from Day 4 because my coursework commenced from 27th. Classes start on Tuesday. I arrived here 10 days back, so will give you a brief update as to what has happened and what I observed so far. Firstly, people here talk way too nicely so much so that I feel there is something wrong with me only, then again I am from UP so jabtak 3-4 gaalian exchange na ho jaye, whatever the person in front of me is saying doesn't get even registered on the brain. Secondly, I am quite surprised by the way people drive here. Let me explain you with example. If I am crossing a road and car driver sees me from 70-80 meters away, he would stop then and there and then signal me to cross the road first. At such instances my mind goes like chacha itni izzat bardasht kar paoge?? In Up, back at my place I would have crossed the same road back and forth over 5 times. As far as weather here is concerned there is always a combination of rain, strong winds, cold, and sun where sun takes the backseat. Saw literally over 10 rainbows(some of them were double) on my way from Airport to acoomodation, inke yahan ye aam baat hai, either way rainbow quota complete for life. Cold can sting, that I came to know about after arriving here only, good thing I love winters. With rain its like if you have been to a traditional Indian marriage ceremony, there they have this fan which sparys water droplets, here that system is installed by default in the sky.The Leeds city itself is built on hilly areas, so if one goes from point A to B, one encounters couple of uphills and downhills. So far have been exploring the area around me and the University campus which is pretty huge, kinda city on its own. I have lost my way so many times, so glad that Google Maps exists. Apart from that been networking with people like crazy, attending orientation programs, adjusting to life here and getting things in order. So I am the only Indian in my coursework with no more than 30-40 in total. Met some smart people, smart as in smart as hell, like they know what they are talking about. So I am kinda back at 0, got my a** humbled as f*ck. Here there is a very good culture of running and biking. At any point in day if I go out I can easily spot someone or the other getting after it. Back in India I use to go on long runs. Today while I was running, saw a marathon group passing me by so I couldn't stop myself from joining them. They were doing a 5k recovery run. Up until today I thought I was fast as back in India there was hardly anyone to compete against around the place I used to live at, so kinda became arrogant regarding that. The people with whom I was running today were not people, they were monsters in the sense they had really good endurance and speed. Like they were running at 6-7 minute/mile easy, also got passed by grandpas and older people. So kinda again got my a** humbled. I that covers the most of it. Kivtas out.

In May 2022, I met a Wiseman, and we had a long discussion of more than 2 hours. The Asian man advised me three things and it only requires your 5 minutes read!1. Understand that You may not have the knowledge to use the knowledge that you have.2. Life is all about Utilizing Opportunities, your specialties and knowledge should never obsess you in utilizing the opportunities.3. When Student is Ready, the teacher will always appear. He concluded to me that if he would get an opportunity to meet all the youth at once in the World, he will advise them to "BE READY" Since at any time, any moment, and any significant cause can make your GOLDEN TIME on board! and if you are NOT READY you will not utilize the GOLDEN DAYS effectively that normally they never last, but once they are well utilized they have life.

One thing I learned in my first year at the university was that I wasn't so smart after all.😭😅🙇Why?Because how did this guy know so much about this particular topic I was crushing back in Secondary school?😭And why were there so many results better than mine?😭I was used to being at the top of my class and all, but it felt like I had been pushed down from the high table.🙇It was a rude awakening.🏋️That pill was too bitter to swallow, and I could have just given up on myself and accepted to sit downstairs.🙇But, I was no quitter.🌱I packed up my books and LIVED at the library.🔥I used to read with my friends from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.🏋️😅Lol, I remember clearly the day I was almost locked up inside the UNN library with BEN (aka Mr. Brainiac).💝 What am I saying?I made the decision to level up.☑️I didn't give up on myself and relax.☑️I understood that there will always be someone better than me, but that doesn't mean I should stop striving to become better.☑️ And now that I am in my final year, I can comfortably say I have leveled up.💯Thanking God for His grace and strength.😇I don't live in the library anymore; I don't even go there since I moved out of school.😁Also, I developed an effective plan that incorporated both study time and extracurricular activities perfectly.🤝🌿Summarily, don't ever GIVE UP on yourself.💝There's always room for Improvement.💯#cindyadawrites#school#motivation
