Yes, you can most definitely reuse mushroom grow kits! Mushroom grow kits are generally designed to give you more than one harvest depending on the species of mushroom inside your growing kit. There is enough water nutrition available in the substrate to give you multiple harvests over a period of 2-10 weeks.

This might be due to the temperature being too low, insufficient moisture, or poor air circulation. It's crucial to create a warm, humid environment with good air circulation for your mushroom kit to flourish.

Many species take several weeks (sometimes months) to colonize the bag depending on species, environmental conditions, and/or the vigor of your spores or culture.

All in one mushroom grow bags: Leave in original packaging. Store your all in one grow bag in a cool and dry location. All in one grow bags can keep for up to 3 months in these conditions. There will be no need to rehydrated or sterilize the products a second time.

Oyster mushrooms are by far the easiest and most reliable mushrooms to grow. For beginners we recommend our Mist & Grow Oyster mushroom grow kits. Give your block some fresh air

Leaving the plastic on your kit helps to keep moisture in, preventing the block from drying out. Feel free to spray it periodically when it's looking parched as you would inside. After a couple of weeks, you should expect mushrooms after heavy rainfall or after a big temperature shift.

How often should I water my mushroom kit? ›

Humidity is a key factor for successful mushroom growth. Spray the area around your kit with a few pumps of water whenever you have a chance, at least 2-3 times a day.

Mushroom grow kits can be surprisingly resilient. While we recommend fruiting your grow kit as soon as possible, if you need to, you can store your grow kit in the refrigerator for up to 6 months!

Grow locations.

Now that you have finished setting up your kit, you will need to place your kit somewhere for it to grow. The best location will be a room where the temperature stays between 15 to 24 degrees C. The ideal fruiting temperature range for Portabella and White Button mushrooms is between 17 to 20 degrees F.

Once the kit has run out of nutrients and water it will be "spent" and won't produce any more mushrooms.

My kit looks like it is covered in white mold, is this normal? That's not mold, that's mycelium! Mushroom mycelium is white with fragrances ranging from earthy and sweet, to stronger and musty. Green or black colored molds are usually a sign of trouble.

All you need to do is keep your bag in a warm place inside your house. Between 20 to 24 C is an ideal temperature range. Luckily for most people, that's also around the ambient temperature inside your home.

While some growers report harvests of 10-15 grams of dried mushrooms per pound of substrate in these bags, others might achieve less, often from significant side pinning, and especially in the case of contamination or suboptimal growing conditions.
